Jenny I. Martella, MBA, CFP®
Director of Financial Planning
Prior to joining Keatley Wealth Management in 2012, Jenny Martella enjoyed a 15-year career working as a commercial loan officer and private banker to high net worth clients. Her experience includes a role as Vice President in charge of loan underwriting in a real estate construction loan department at a small regional bank. She also managed a multimillion dollar micro-loan portfolio for a non-profit which loaned funds to businesses who manufactured products using recycled materials. Jenny’s primary role at Keatley Wealth Management has been financial planning and client service. She assumed the Director of Financial Planning position in 2014.
Jenny has always had a strong personal interest in financial planning. She decided to pursue it as a career when she noticed many friends and family members receiving poor or inadequate advice from financial professionals in the wake of the 2008-2009 financial crisis. This decision led her to successfully complete the Financial Planner graduate course of study at Queens University and earn the CFP® (CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™) marks of distinction.
After researching many financial planning practices in Charlotte, Jenny joined KWM because of her strong belief in the value of independent fee-only advice and the firm’s mission to serve clients in a fiduciary capacity. She was also drawn to KWM’s commitment to provide each client with comprehensive planning and evidenced-based, cost-effective investment solutions.
Jenny has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal, Kiplinger Personal Finance, and Financial Advisor IQ. She has also served as a panelist on a recorded webinar for Fidelity Charitable to discuss the topic of tax efficient giving strategies and donor advised funds.
Jenny lives in Charlotte, North Carolina with her husband and two children. An avid swimmer/cyclist/runner, Jenny likes to compete in local triathlons and swims on a U.S. Masters swim team. She is a Girl Scout troop leader, and loves helping girls develop leadership skills and a love of nature. She volunteers regularly at her church, and is currently serving on the Stewardship/Finance leadership board.
