As “fee-only advisors”, Keatley Wealth Management acts as a fiduciary in all client dealings at all times. Our business is structured to eliminate the conflicts of interest that exist when a financial advisor is also a salesperson for or an employee of a large institution. As an independent firm, our clients benefit from our ability to consider a broader range of solutions as we are not beholden to a bank, brokerage firm or insurance company to sell their products. We work for our clients and we are paid by our clients only. We never receive compensation from anyone other than our clients.
This approach is in sharp
contrast to that of the large banks and investment firms and the
salespeople who work for them. Fee-based advisors are paid to
steer their clients toward specific products and services provided by
their employer or brokerage firm and charge percentage fees on
investment accounts. This limiting of choices, fee schedule and
compensation structure often impacts the quality of the investment
advice given. Their primary loyalty lies with the financial
institutions that employ them (brokerage firms, banks, insurance
companies) and not their clients. As true fiduciaries, this is never
the case at Keatley Wealth Management.
